Personal History- My passion for hockey began at the age of six when my family first went in the ice rink business. I grew up skating, playing hockey and working in the family ice rink year around. To this day, it has allowed me plenty of opportunity to be on the ice everyday. At Squirt age I started playing travel hockey and was on five state teams (Team Florida) all the way up through Bantam. My travels took me to tournaments in Detroit, Boston, Toronto, Montreal, Quebec, Ottawa and more. In 2004 at the age of 14 I played both Midget and Junior C in the newly formed USA Hockey Southeast Junior Hockey League. Since this was the only Junior hockey in the SE District the leagues players were much older than most Junior C leagues. I was by far the youngest player in the league but yet was still able to score 7 goals with 2 assist in the 14 games. Now at the age of 18 I’m the Captain of that team and I’m very proud of sticking with my home program that was able to elevate our position from last place in the SEJHL in 2004-05 to USA Hockey National Champions in 2006-07. My strengths as a player are skating, work ethic, hockey sense and team skills. My areas that need improvement are to build physical strength and weight on my 6’2” frame while working on developing a quicker more accurate shot. I love being part of a team. This is why I play HS football and excel in doubles on my HS tennis team. My goal is to go to college and major in business while playing college hockey.
